Adjacency issue

Hi @mostapha, I have created a model, and I ran solve adjacency to surface match. However, there are a few surfaces that are not correctly matched. I tried to fix it manually in the face modifier, but I am not sure what I should enter as adjacent surface input.

Thanks!

Hi @mesmailian

The input is a list of IDs but I don’t recommend you putting the numbers in manually. Instead we should see why it doesn’t solve the adjacencies correctly. It’s usually because if one of these reasons:

  1. There’s a gap between the faces in the model tolerance units. If you can’t see the gap it’s usually happening because the tolerance is too small.
  2. The are windows between the two faces that don’t match. I’m this case, you can use the PO_MatchChildObjects command to match them.

I would be happy to help if you can share the model with me here or via a private message.

Hi Mostapha, thank you so much for your response. I think the reason 1 is the issue. Is remodeling the best way to fix it?
Thanks.

Hi @mesmailian,

The Rhino plugin has several commands for fixing misalignments and gaps. See here:

@mostapha Thank you so much! It worked. I have Pollination 1.51.2.0, and I was wondering if I can do local simulation within this version.

Hi @mesmailian, I’m glad to hear that the issue with the adjacency has been resolved.

See here for the tutorial for running the studies. You can either run them locally or on the cloud.
